Rough Justice Denied

JJV continues his perusal of the British press and forwards this story about a man who wanted to settle a DMV-related infraction through trial by combat with "a champion nominated by the [DMV]." He charitably offered a choice of weapons: these, these or these. The usually tradition-rich British justice system turned him down.

While this immediately strays into Monty Python territory (frankly it may have started there), JJV observes that the DMV would have had an advantage considering that the man would have been worn down by standing in line all day.

JJV also wishes it to be known that while he favors British institutions (presumably including trial by combat) he is not an Anglophile per se. Angloinstitutionophile?
