This is a great piece on Alexander Hamilton and his effect on the country even today. I want to draw attention to one grace note at the end. George Washington is sometimes a remote figure today. But when his former aide-de-camp and right hand was emeshed in a public, embarrassing sex scandal what did he do? Sent booze! (and a nice letter). Perfect.

Actually it sounds like Washington sent Hamilton a wine bucket ("wine cooler") rather than actual wine. However, I would never let facts get in the way of a good story with a high truthiness quotient.
It says there were four bottles in it.
Here is what I take to be the relevant portion of the text:
I pray you to accept a Wine cooler for four bottles. . .
I interpret that as "something designed to hold four bottles." Perhaps there were indeed bottles included but there is nothing in the text that explicitly confirms that.
Perhaps you mean something like this. Please note that the stand is Victorian and the cooler is from the 1700s.

(sorry dave s., i can't figure out the HTML for comments)
That seems about right, EMM.
For embedding a URL in text, do the same as you would in a post: use anchor tags with "href=" and the URL in double quotes. For example, the link you gave is in this text. You can always right-click and select View Source to see the underlying HTML.
