Dancing with the Indicted

My friend and blogging colleague J has already mentioned the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars and the unfortunate inclusion of Tom DeLay in the cast.

Interestingly enough, this is not DeLay's first time at the rodeo, so to speak. In 2006 he attempted to mobilize his followers against the surprisingly popular Jerry Springer, whose (to me) unexpected flair for self-deprecatory humor kept him in the contest far longer than his actual dancing skills should have.

In any event, I suspect I will only have to avoid the show for one week. Fortunately there is no way to vote against a participant or I'd have to spend my work hours writing an automatic voting program.

I agree Dave S., that Delay will be the first one out. If not, have no fear this season has plans for double elimination weeks to weed out the bottom feeders.

In the words of the Violent Femmes, "Dance, dance Mo%^#$ Fu*%$@ dance..."

I find it hilarious that the main thing about Delay is that a Democratic prosecutor "indicted" him. Where's the conviction? You know about ham sandwiches and prosecutors? If a liberal was politically indicted like this it would be front page out rage. But delay beat the Democrats constantly and soundly so no outrage is too great.

Also, why does anyone watch that show?
