Like Annie Savoy in Bull Durham, I too believe in the "Church of Baseball".
I hope the Washington Nations got it right this time by signing Strasburg. Maybe a glimmer of hope for a winning season in 2010 is on the horizon.
I don't want to hear that has has a "million-dollar arm and a five-cent head" like Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh.
Hopefully he'll spend the off season learning to "breathe through his eyelids".

There are sure to be intermediate stages between "embarrassingly bad" and "winning season." Baby steps...
That's one... but as the Mets have learned, one great pitcher does not a winning season make. (Weeping.)
