RIP

I was shocked to hear from J today of the death of Al Weisel, much better known to the blogosphere as Jon Swift. His alter ego's blog was a wonderfully conceived and executed Colbert Report for the Internet; go here for a sampling of the highlights.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be missed near and far.

There is a great thread about Al over on my friend Bella's Facebook page, including comments from his sister. Apparently she and Al were good friends. Who knew? So sad. I've been sick about it all day. He was only in his 40s and such a wit. RIP, Jon Swift.

A loss such as this should make us stop. Stop, take a breath, a moment, an hour (if we're lucky) to just be grateful for what we have. Even if we're having a stressful, hectic or grumpy day, we should make the best of it.

Namaste.

That's the 2nd time in the last few years I've heard of a middle aged person suffering an Aortic Dissection at a time of profound grief.
