Cripes, the Pennsylvanians

Today's true crime story comes from Pennsylvania and has one of the better concentration of personal and place names, while managing to leave out Intercourse and Blue Ball (the towns, anyway). The highlights:
  • Raccoon Township in Beaver County
  • The awesome alleged bugger (ha) Wayne Comet Cripe
Mr. Cripe's name is especially noteworthy since it moves the all-too-common criminal middle name to pole position, replacing it with Cupid's partner. It's like the guy had no choice, karmically speaking, but to bug his wife's bed to monitor her amorous activity.

Such shame to bring on the home of Henry Mancini and, unsurprisingly for a steeltown in Western Pennsylvania, a slew of gridiron greats.
