Long-Delayed Blogroll Update!

I have done a bit of weeding and editing in my part of the blogroll. Two big additions:

1) Friend and fellow blogger J has a fifteen-year-old daughter who in a shockingly short span of time has transformed herself into both a top-flight chef and, via her own blog, a cheerful paleo-diet propagandist. (I mean that in the best way possible.) Grab your aprons and head on over.

2) If you have not heard of or visited visited Hark, a Vagrant! yet, I recommend you do so immediately and just keep clicking on Random. Come for the obscure Canadian history*, stay for the interpretations of Edward Gorey book covers.

*redundant when written by a US citizen

Back from the Land of Saranac

I see that JJV has not been idle during our (family plus CRH, who picked a real keeper of a lake house this time) annual sojourn in the Adirondacks. I would like to thank Nick C. and the always-welcome commenter JCC for doing their best to balance things out.

"Long boom" - whoo, that's a good one. I laughed until I wept.

On a further housekeeping note, Reed's Garden Ramblings has a new URL, now updated in the blogroll. Recommended for connisseurs of outdoor photography and horticultural advice alike.

Luckily for You, a Tipping Point was Reached

Recently I was reminded how much I enjoy Dinosaur Comics and Basic Instructions, two online comics who combine great dialogue and situations with essentially static layout; in the case of the former I think only the dialogue changes from strip to strip, while the latter relies on combinations of a few basic yet effective images.

I go tired of being intermittently reminded of that, so I created a new section of the blogroll and placed them there, along with xkcd.

Enjoy the new Comics Section!

Lose a Potential Team Member, Gain a Blogroll Entry

After initially promising negotiations my friend Jennifer Schiff has launched her own blog rather than join the Potpourri for $500 team. This is for the best, as her writing not only deserves its own home but would have made the current team look like (bigger) pikers by comparison.

Welcome to the blogosphere, J!
