By the Time the Picnic Ended, It Was Only Worth $75

One more for the Inflation Chronicles:

At our company picnic last week we had the traditional raffle giveaways like gift cards for Pottery Barn, Lowes etc. New for this year: $100 gift cards for Shell and ExxonMobil. Each represents two fillups for my mini-SUV, somewhere south of 1.5 for the minivan/SUV crowd, and for those farsighted Hummer buyers, enough to get you to the next gas station down the block.
