Useless Knowledge Pays Off (Slightly)

This morning Laura and I got coffee (both), a muffin (Laura) and a cinnamon roll (me) at a place that promised 10 cents off for anyone who could tell them what animal produces an average of 15 gallons of urine and 250 pounds of manure per day. Kind of an odd question to have people ponder while they are waiting in line to order food and drink.

The answer, of course, is the lemur ("The lemur"...). No, it's actually the elephant, and it got me a whopping 1.1% discount. I suspect they were hoping to capitalize on Panda-mania to save themselves some change, but I saw right through that. (If pandas were to boast such, uh, qualities, my guess is their Cuddliness Factor would drop by an order of magnitude or so.)

I am not sure if this falls under the rubric of Uncreative Scatology, but the important thing is that I got to a) employ my trove of useless knowledge for financial gain and b) use the word "rubric."

The most important thing is, I think, the cinnamon roll.

You are correct, in fact. The cinnamon roll was excellent.
