From Across the Jordan-Across the Euphrates.

Michael Kelly, former editor of the Atlantic Monthly, and New Republic, died in Iraq on the day this, the last of his articles as an embed was published, four years ago today. Here is a good piece on him: http://www.slate.com/id/2081167/

I started reading and recognizing Kelly about two or three years before he died. He may be the only man I never met who I miss often. His country took a cruel blow when he died under fire from Saddam's men. I often wonder when reading about the War, I wonder what Michael Kelly would say?

Plus, how many men do both I and Maureen Dowd admire?

R.I.P.

Fred Thompson? Although I suspect your admiration is not her admiration.
