Karl Lagerfield was heretofore unknown to me. Now he has enraged 1) those with eating disorders who blame the fashion industry; 2) those who want fur only on unsentient meat eating creatures; 3) fat teens and 4) Chinchilla farmers who know their livestock is herbivores.
I've found that he is German born, not French as one might expect from his location and employment. He also lost 92 pounds in 13 months to fit into some kind of fashion so knows from fat and size 0.
I have no idea what kind of clothes he makes but if I were to purchase suits simply on the basis of who the designer was willing to annoy this might my clothier of choice.

Chanel does have a menswear collection, so you would not have to step out in a smart skirt suit w/ a quilted bag.
