A Son of The Protestant Ascendency Dies a Roman

I can not match the homily to the Patriarch Alexi below. However, I have ever been fascinated by the son of John Foster Dulles the Secretary of State, and an inheritor of the Protestant Ascendancy in America becoming first a priest, then in his old age, a Prince of Rome. His Grandfather had been a presbyteriam minister. His uncle was the great spy master, Allen Dulles, and of course, his father's other claim to faim was having the airport in Virginia named after him. He was a tremendous writer and the folks at First Things have a list of his articles for them. John Paul the Great elevated him to Cardinal even though he was a Jesuit, and a priest rather than a Bishop. First Things has put together some of his writing here: http://www.firstthings.com/onthesquare/?p=1250

R.I.P.
